James Squire Porter

Tasted:07 Mar 2006
Name:James Squire Porter (200)
Type:Porter
Producer:James Squire (253)
Region:Australia
Rating:ok+
Web Site:http://www.maltshovel.com.au

This beer had a very deep opaque reddish brown colour, amd a thick creamy head. The aroma showed strong toasted barley, strong malt, and smoky wood. There was light hoppy bitterness, and smooth smoky malt and chocolate. This was smooth but woody, with quite complex flavours.

Note 1 I am not really a beer expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these beers. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it!

Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these beers as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on freshness and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities.
